Ordered carry out. Drove all the way from Lakewood but they left out part of the order. I called but was put on hold for 20 min. The food is great but you need to check your order to see if everything in the order is included otherwise you might get short changed.
This is by Far the BEST sushi in the USA. There is one problem, YOU will crave this for the rest of your life. My health stops me from going there other wise I would be sitting there right now.
Excellent food plan to go back when covid is over.
The best sushi I've ever had. I definitely recommend the California rolls. The rice is amazing. The flavor was perfectly balanced. The smoked salmon nigiri was also amazing. Absolutely worth it. Order was ready as scheduled for pick up and the staff is super nice and helpful. Great food!!!
Looking forward to going in-person, and skipping takeout for now. I’m not sure what it is, but takeout has been disappointing. Crispy spicy tuna tastes stale, something is missing, food is cold...it’s been very hit or miss (we can tell when they’re busy because it’s usually worse). There’s also an 18% service fee added now that goes to the owners and not the employees - so you’re expected to tip then on top of that. Not a big deal, but at that price point I expect consistency that’s lacking now. Will I continue to roll the dice hoping for the food of Sushi Den-past? Probably. But it’s not what it used to be.
Ok place for quality Sushi. I give this place double thumbs up. It has a nice interior. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I liked.
There's a reason sushi den is world renowned.
My fav location for tasty sushi. Nice place to think about business. The service was friendly and observant. Prices are reasonable. Not so close to my office, unfortunately.
Normally, I love this place, but I had a terrible, no-apology experience that has really soured me on Sushi Den. On May 9th, we placed a take out order, I walked up after receiving the text my food was ready for pickup. 55 minutes later of standing outside in the cool evening air with no explanations other than "it should be up soon" over and over, I got my food with no receipt. When I asked what the deal was with not signing anything, I asked what was up and the server slipped and explained that I had to wait so long because they had lost the receipt book with the original receipts in it; indicating my sushi had been sitting for an hour. Keep in mind, I watched about 20-30 other pick ups in this time, and all of them happened in 5-10 minutes. This was for a birthday dinner and it was 9pm at this point, so there really wasn't much else I could do in terms of going somewhere else. Really disappointing because they're usually great. Update:8 months later. Sushi den called me a few months after this disaster above telling me my order was ready for pickup. Nope I hadn't ordered. Turns out a manager reprinted the receipt to figure out what happened, but then never bothered to respond or call. We sent an email to let them know the issue, but at most we're looking for an apology, not a refund, not a coupon, just an acknowledgement that they failed. Not a peep, sushi den doesn't care about you, just your money. It's going to be really hard to ever go back, and this was all our favorite restaurant prior to this. Just get Hapa, their sushi is just as good and the service is better.
Sushi Den and Izakaya are the best restaurants in Colorado. Read their blog posts about how they source fish. No contest. There should be a 6 star option just for them as they are on another level.
Long wait for curbside pick-up, but it was worth it!
Mixed feelings here. Overall I feel the food is on the bland side. There are better sushi restaurants in Denver and I honestly don't understand why this place packs the crowds it does. That said, I'm very impressed with their take-out process during COVID. I'd take Sushi Ronin and Sushi Sasa over this place.
Wow! Sushi Den is phenomenal! During COVID, they certainly have all their ducks in a row. The staff is amazing (including Craig, Steven and the many other awesome people manning the phone for questions and orders). They were all patient, knowledgeable, personable and incredibly thorough. Pick up was easy with a quick text confirming that my order was ready. It was arranged well to ensure 6 feet of social distancing and requiring that masks were mandatory. Great job keeping everyone safe, Sushi Den! There was a line of six people picking up at the same time, but the 1-4 staffers who rotated out, quickly helped things flow efficiently. Each one (including the Bento box staffers...I went to the wrong line initially) were so friendly! The to-go staff took great care to ensure I had everything I needed. Hands down a great take out experience! Another bonus were the suggestions on what to order: going over flavor, to portions, to accompaniments, as well as the must-try’s.....it has always been the best way to enjoy all that Sushi Garden has to offer. We absolutely loved the sake, sushi, rolls and desert! It’s a delicious experience well worth the hefty price tag. I have been frequenting since 2008 on all my Denver trips and each experience has always exceeded the bar! I cannot wait for the next time! ?
Six stars! The omakase was amazing even as take out. Yasu and his staff are just brilliant. Thank you!
My family has gone here for years for special occasions and is always phenomenal. We got take out for Christmas Eve and it was the best. So fresh and amazing roll combinations. Eat food here.
I've only been here once, it's a little far from my house. Thank goodness too or I would be going here weekly. My wife is Japanese, so I bought two huge bags of food to celebrate our 28th anniversary. When I picked up the food Sushi Den made it easy. They have a walk up area with at least four people there handing out orders. When you get there, just call them from your car, then they will text you to come up. The food was amazing.
The pickup was a little off. Wanted to have an at home date night with Sushi Den and a live stream concert. Unfortunately my order wasn’t ready on time after working with the staff it was noticed my order was under another customer name. The staff was great and I was fortunately able to make it home with 4 minutes to spare. The food as always was great even if we had to eat at home.
The best Sushi in Denver ???
the only place i will get sushi in denver, and super covid friendly takeout situation!
Take out was on point! Best Sushi in Denver!
One of the best sushi establishments in Colorado! I love the quality of the food here, fish is always fresh and flown in straight from Japan. They take a lot of pride in what they do and you can clearly see that. I’ve had the opportunity to try their tuna, yellow tail, uni, and salmon roe sushi. So good! And so fresh! Love it and I’ll be back!
Best sushi in Denver!
Sushi done puts as much care into their takeout as they always have with their dine in!
Excellent place for quality sushi. certainly worth a return trip. the bill won't break you. atmosphere is similar to a cafe in san jose i loved.
I have been supporting local restaurants during the pandemic, lots of restaurants are charging 3.99% convenience/service fee when you pay by card which is normal these days. Im totally fine with that but this place charges 12%, first time in my life that I had to cancel the order just within 3 minutes after the order had been placed
definitely preferred pre covid sushi den.
Sushi Den did not disappoint. Our server Steven truly made the evening. Everything was wonderful, from start to finish.
Sushi den obviously has amazing food but what really made our experience was Steven(who shocking had only worked there for three weeks). He was our server and he was the best. He totally took the reigns on our food and drink. We gave him about how much we were willing to spend and he crafted an amazing course dinner for us. The dishes came, every one better than the last. On top of that we told him we wanted a gin cocktail and he whipped up an amazing drink (with the help of the bartender). So good that we had to requested another spectacular personal cocktail. Then finished off our dinner with a exquisite saki paring. Long story long, we put our trust in Steven and he did not disappoint.
The best place in all Colorado!!! Best sushi i ever had!!
Best raw fish I’ve ever had! Service was incredible and the decor top notch. Very reasonable price for high quality fish flown in from around the world!
A fav location for quality sushi. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. Looking forward to a return visit. The bill was good for what you get. This place has great reviews for a reason.
Great sushi pricing has gotten better
Sushi and the setting at this spot is very good. Very delicious. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. It has an awesome feel to it. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I loved.
Fine place for delicious Sushi. Came in on a Weds. The service was very helpful and observant.
After hearing about this place for years, we finally choose to experience it last night. It was worthily of all of the hype. It is THE sushi restaurant in Colorado. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend that you go. We will be back.
Sushi Den is without a doubt my favorite sushi, and favorite restaurant, in Denver. The service is wonderful, the staff like family, and the food is superb. The fish quality is not only the best in Denver - but some of the best sushi I’ve ever had from coast to coast. We’ve been loyal customers here for years and will be for years to come. I bring family, friends, colleagues, and visitors here, and would recommend for any occasion. Omakase is exceptional. Try the seasonal and daily specials, sashimi plates, and the miso black cod. The to go service is also great. Everything is packaged and labeled with care. Sauces come on the side, and hot/cold items are packaged separately.
Wonderful food, first time pickup at window, everything was great.
Sushi and service at this place is great. The bill won't shock you. Wish it was closer to my house, I would come every week.
Amazing service and food. Can't wait to come back.
What ever happened to the customer is always right? We put in our order at 530pm for a preferred pickup of 645. They called and confirmed 645. When I go in to ask about status at 715 about the status, they argue that pickup is 745. I can understand a simple miscommunication, but I do not approve of being condescended to by the staff and treated like that. Zero stars for customer service.
Very organized take out given covid
Bar none the best sushi and sushi experience in Denver, but you have to get the chef's table. That is the way.
The waiter was very friendly. It was very comfortable, clean, and top quality food. While eating it felt like they knew what they were doing at a professional level. Would love to come again sometime.
Great food, busy but patient servers. Evening went really well.
Always an average experience. Customer service is generally lacking - short, rude, not helpful. Since there has traditionally been slim pickings for sushi in Denver and the metro areas, I can see why locals would think this is mind blowing. Much prefer Matsuhisa/Nobu for service and quality of fish.
Hands down, Sushi Den is my favorite local restaurant. The seafood tastes absolutely fresh, the sushi chefs do such a wonderful job with the dishes, and the staff are friendly. I highly, highly recommend this amazing Japanese restaurant for everything. All of their sushi and sashimi are exquisite. Some of my absolute favorites include: aburi hotate, ginger sashimi with akami tuna, and Osaka style aburi sockeye salmon (when it was offered). I highly, highly recommend Sushi Den Denver!!!
